Pregnancy Week 7

If you are currently pregnant with your first child or simply someone who would like to know what the baby looks like inside the mother during Pregnancy Week 7, your questions will be answered here. Pregnancy Week 7 is an important stage for the baby as this is the time that he or she is undergoing several extraordinary changes and developments. At Pregnancy Week 7, the baby starts to form inside him or her important body parts such as the heart, head, spinal cord along with the formation of large blood vessels. As these blood vessels form, the heart will now pump fluid through it and this will lead to the creation of the baby’s first red blood cells. The baby measures approximately around 7 – 9 mm or 0.27 – 0.35 inches in length, something comparable to the size of a single rice grain with a weight of 1/30 of an ounce.

Baby Development During Pregnancy Week 7

At 7 weeks pregnant, other important body parts will start developing inside your baby. The brain, bladder, tongue and esophagus are all undergoing transformation and development along with the formation of the baby’s face. The eyes along with very small eyelids will begin to form and move to the front of the face. Tiny limbs will begin to develop and other internal organs such as the liver, lungs, pancreas and kidneys will start to form. At Pregnancy Week 7, you can’t still tell whether the baby is a boy or a girl through sight, however, the genital tubercle is present this week.

Physical Changes to the Mother During Pregnancy Week 7

At Pregnancy Week 7, the expectant mother might encounter various physical experiences such as morning sickness along with facial breakouts or acne, as this is mainly brought about by the ongoing hormonal changes the body is experiencing. They should not worry about this too much though as this is normal and keeping your face clean will help in minimizing cases of breakouts and acne. Also, at second trimester or when the baby is delivered these will eventually go away. Another normal occurrence is weight gain, at one or two pounds in added weight this is actually not much, and you might still not look pregnant to other people yet.

A due date calculator can help expectant moms determine the actual delivery date of the baby, without resorting to “guesstimates” or manually counting with your fingers. With the help of this little tool, you can safely determine the due date of the baby. Simply enter the date of your last period and click “Calculate Due Date”. A date will then be shown after a few seconds indicating the due date of your pregnancy. Using the due date calculator (available at some of the sites near the top of this page) and the various information regarding Pregnancy Week 7 we have mentioned above, you can stay worry-free and informed about the status of your baby.
